When people ask me about the cost of Jamestown, sometimes you get a little nervous because on paper it looks like a lot, but I think zero students have ever paid that price. 100% of freshmen get scholarships just by their GPA. You can get them for joining band or theater or choir or whatever you find interesting here. Whether that's athletic, academic, or performing arts, the admissions team and the financial aid office are super at granting scholarships and figuring out all the pricing and everything, which really makes UJ affordable at the end of the day.
They know what scholarships are available to you and they're super transparent about that. If they think you even possibly qualify for a scholarship, they'll tell you; they'll tell you who to contact, what to do, and they can let you know what it would look like if you qualify for that and find other options for you if you don't. And it extends also to staff and faculty. Many staff and faculty financially support student scholarships with payroll deductions.
I found that when I got here, there was a lot more in store for me than what I thought. You can get alumni referrals. They also have work study options. So even if you don't qualify for federal work study, they have institutional work study, and that can help you cover costs of books or tuition or anything you may need. You can talk to your high school counselor about that or any of the financial aid office here at Jamestown and they would love to help you.
