Sir Jimmie or Sir James, as he is known, was a knight that stood for the good of mankind. And he seemed to be the perfect fit for the University of Jamestown to become the Jamestown Jimmies.
Being a Jimmie means understanding pride, family, and tradition, being a Jimmie means knowing how to get the job done when your back is against the wall. Being a Jimmie is wearing the orange and black with pride. Being Jimmie is something we don't take for granted. Being a Jimmie should come from the heart and the soul.
You want to be the best that you can be you want to be the best in the classroom, you want to be there on time, asking questions, going that extra mile. If you see something wrong, you're gonna go out, you're gonna step up, you're gonna fix it. If you see someone needs to needs help. You're not just going to walk by you're going to go out, be that person help make a change and just do everything that you can to be the best person you can be.
This place meant so much to me when I was here as a student, and it still means as much as a Coach and an Assistant Athletic Director. I can't tell you how much pride I feel in being a Jimmie.
When I was a senior in high school and looking at colleges to apply to Jamestown was one that struck my eye right away. I'm 21 years old, so I haven't made many decisions, but I think it's the best decision I've made in my life. The friends I've made, the relationships I have my coaches and faculty, I think it's something that's going to last a lifetime and the value of that is just something I don't know if I would have got if I would have went to another school.
