The Financial Aid Office was great to work with. It wasn't just that they were there for you financially, they got to know you as a person and what your unique situation was.
We make it personal. We're not just here to push you through the program. We truly care about our students. We bring them to our homes, we feed them, I always have chocolate in my office. I love the University of Jamestown so much so I went back and got my master's degree specifically to come back and teach here.
With our Career Services, it doesn't just start your senior year or after you're done and then we're just trying to help you find a job. This is something that's developed as sophomore, junior, senior. The 99% job placement rate speaks for itself.
We do mock interviews in our department. Occasionally we'll do two or three rounds and it's amazing to see the growth from the first interview when they're, you know, fidgeting in their seat.
I felt ready to advance my career early on. I felt ready to take on the challenge of leadership role. Once you graduate, you find out that there's this huge alumni network that is still there to support you. We've hired several Jimmies and I gotta say the thing that we noticed from them is they're ready to go and be contributors [on] day one.
They've got the technical skills we expect. But above that, they've got the soft skills. They know how to communicate effectively. They know how to collaborate. It is something truly special. I definitely wouldn't trade my experience for anything. You need to come and check it out. It's a great school!
